Jacob Peter Smith is a native of Lexington, KY and got his BA at Xavier University, double majoring in Digital Innovation Film & Television and Economics, and a MFA in Screenwriting at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. Jacob has been a writer since before he could even write, as he would orate stories as a child to his grandmother while she typed them up. He premiered his feature length debut "Righteous" at the Kentucky Theatre when he was 18. While at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Jacob was Vice President of the Film and Television club and was a staff writer for the Xavier Newswire, primarily the comedy page. He also was a producer, writer, editor, and actor on the Xavier Newswire affiliated sketch comedy show: "The Blobcast". His senior thesis film, "My Hero Resolved", went on to win several awards including an Ohio Valley student Emmy for "Best Writing" and a BEA Festival of Media Arts "Award of Excellence". His first feature length script, a horror film called "The Scout", was an "Official Finalist" at the Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival 2024. Though he writes in many genres (horror, family-friendly adventure, and adult comedy), his stories often incorporate themes of family legacy, boyhood friendship, and self acceptance.
